Church spire
You get a very special view from our tower.
From a height of approximately 90m you can look
over our Hanseatic city and it surroundings including
the islands of Rügen and Hiddensee.
You can climb the tower all year long during the
opening times but beware, you need to be quite
physically fit to do so. The ascent begins on a
circular staircase made of stone that leads you
approximately half-way up the spire. From there
you can look out from the tower hatches and get
already a fairly good view.
The ascent continues past the three church bells
over narrow wooden ladders up to the observation
platform.
Don’t forget your camera! On Sundays and
on holidays you can climb the tower
only after the service.
