St. Mary’s Church, Stralsund is regarded as the endpoint of the North German brick Gothic architecture and constitutes with its westwork and the transept crossing a unique architectural example of this epoch. The church houses the Altar of the Coronation of Virgin Mary and the famous Stellwagen organ built by Friedrich Stellwagen in the period from 1653 to 1659.
